  What? Several days celebrating the day that King Jaime I entered the city and took control of it from the Moors. Coincides with the Day of Saint Donís as well as the Day of the Community of Valencia.

• XXX Festival Internacional de Pirotecnia 30th Annual International Pyrotechnics Festival
  When? October 8 at midnight
  Where? Turia Park, between the Puente de Aragón and the Pasarela de la Exposición
  What? Massive fireworks festival featuring pyrotechnic artists from around the world.

• XIII Festival Flamenco 13th Annual Flamenco Festival
  When? October 16 - 18
  Where? l'Auditori de Torrent
  What? Valencia's annual flamenco festival. This year's highlights include performances by famous flamenco musicians Farruco (October 16th), El Pele & Cañizares (October 17th) and Arcángel (October 18th).

• Abanicos contemporáneos chinos Contemporary Chinese Fans
  When? September 17 - October 25
  Where? IVAM
  What? An exhibition featuring 72 pieces from the Ming and Qing dynasties of China, as well as fans from more modern times. On loan from the Art Museum of Guangzhou.

• El esplendor del renacimiento en Aragón The Splendor of the Renaissance in Aragón
  When? October 21 - January 10
  Where? Museo de Bellas Artes
  What? An exhibition of paintings, drawings, sculptures, silverwork and other artwork that highlights the evolution of art in Aragón over the course of the 15th and 16th centuries.

• Juan Francés. Obra antológica. Juan Francés. Retrospective.
  When? September 11 - October 11
  Where? MUVIM
  What? An exhibition of 50 works representing the various artistic periods of 20th-century Spanish expressionist painter Juan Francés.

• Oro y plata. Lujo y distinción en la antigüedad hispana Golf and Silver. Luxury and Distinction in Ancient Spain
  When? September 24 - December 6
  Where? Museo de la Prehistoria y de las Culturas de Valencia
  What? An exhibition of antique Spanish items created of gold and silver.

• Visión de España. Sorolla. Vision of Spain. Sorolla.
  When? October 1 - January 10
  Where? Fundación Bancaja
  What? An exhibition of artwork by Spanish artist Joaquín Sorolla. 48 pieces are on display, including the Visión de España series painted by Sorolla for the Hispanic Society of America as well as 14 works own by the Fundación Bancaja.

  Where? IVAM
  What? An exhibition of marble sculptures crafted by Alberto Bañuelos.

• Mujeres y desplazamiento forzado en Colombia Women and Forced Displacement in Colombia
  When? Seprtember 16 - October 17
  Where? Club Diario Levante
  What? A photography exhibition centering on the people and faces in the midst of war and violence in Colombia. Sponsored by the non-profit group Atelier Cooperació Internacional per al Desenvolupament.

• Suma y Sigue del diseño en la Comunidad Valenciana A Whole Host of Design in the Valencian Community
  When? September 24 - November 29
  Where? MUVIM
  What? An exhibition of works created between 2000 and 2008 by a selection of Valencia's graphic and industrial designers. Valencia's design scene is known for and characterized by innovation, quality, media impact, international presence and relation with other aspects of contemporary art.

• El Flamenco a través de la pintura Flamenco through Paintings

  Where? Instituto Francés de Valencia (C/ Moro Zeit 6)
  What? A small exhibition of paintings depicting the art of flamenco; part of the XIII Festival Flamenco.

• Instantes con duende Moments of Spirit

  Where? l'Auditori de Torrent
  What? An exhibition of photographs that capture the passion of flamenco by photographer Maque Falgás; part of the XIII Festival Flamenco.

• En materia de roles In Material of Roles

  What? An exhibition featuring artwork of the Middle East and the Magreb, featuring artists Sharif Waked (Palestine), Akram Zaatari (Lebanon), Sherif El Azma (Egypt) and Zineb Sedira (Algeria/France/UK).

• El paso del tiempo en la naturaleza The Passing of Time in Nature

  What? A group of 30 photographs that show the profound effects that the passing of time leaves upon different elements of nature

  What? Exhibition that explores the science and technology related to the world of comics and to the success of the Marvel empire.
